R4S 10/21 and 10/22

USE YOUR BOOK! CHOOSE YOUR CHAPTERS FIRST!

To save your toondoo, go to "start here" then "save as" then give it the page titles and the tage should be R4S/lastname.

Welcome back! Today you will continue working on your toondoo! Remember to reread the instructions. Here is some information to help you understand what I expect of you.

1. You should be either on my blog or http://www.toondoo.com NOWHERE ELSE!

2. YOUR DUE DATE FOR THE TOONDOO IS FRIDAY OCTOBER 29th. (This is even if we haven't finished the entire book!). THIS WILL COUNT AT YOUR MIDTERM

3. Save your toondoo using your real name and the tag information. Go back to the 10/19 blog if you need to reread how to do that! If you do not tag it right I cannot grade it.

4. Your ten page cartoon book is actually 5 pages with 2 slides on each. The title page does not count. Here's an example of what ONE PAGE would look like.

5. Follow the order of the book. You should have the book with you today to help you.

6. Each slide should represent ONE CHAPTER. This means you will have 10 chapters represented in your cartoon.

SMILE! It seems like a lot of work but it's really not - and it's certainly better than a 100 question written test as a midterm. HAVE FUN WITH THIS!

Welcome R4S!

Welcome to my blog! Today we are in the computer lab and you have a few things you need to do!

1. Go to http://www.wordlywise3000.com/
Click on Student
Choose Games at the bottom of the page
There are 5 games to choose from for lessons 1-4.
Complete Hangman and Concentration

2. Look at this movie poster:

If you look carefully, you'll see that the title is not Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, but instead, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. This is the original title by the book's author, J. K. Rowling. When this book was published in England, the title was kept. When the book was published in the United States, the title was changed to the Sorcerer's Stone. What is the best reason why this change was made?

a. Philosopher takes up more room than Sorcerer.
b. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was copyrighted in America by someone else.
c. The book publishers thought American kids would not be familiar with the philosopher's stone, would think it is a boring title, and therefore would not buy it.
d. The American publisher could not spell "philosopher."

IN THE COMMENT SECTION, PLEASE TELL ME YOUR ANSWER! MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE YOUR NAME. RESPOND LIKE THIS: JIM S. C. PLEASE SELECT "COMMENT AS ANONYMOUS"
